About Us

It all began in the early 70s, when GEORGE decided that he not only wanted to race snowmobiles but he wanted to sell them too!! He had big dreams for his company and most of them have come true. One of his dreams was for his wife, VIRA, to join him in his venture. Since that time George and Vira have outgrown their original 450 square foot garage (currently a section of the Service Department) to a 7000 square foot building, which they recently added a 3300 square foot tent showroom to. They now successfully sell and service Yamaha, Bombardier, Honda and Arctic Cat products.

Throughout the years, Snow City Cycle Marine has established an excellent reputation in the power-sports industry. In recognition of everyone's hard work George and Vira have recently received the 2006 Seadoo Watercraft and Sport Boat District Dealer of the Year Awards, and 2006 Yamaha Gold Achievement Award of Excellance. In 2005 Snow City Cycle Marine recieved the National, Regional, and District Seadoo Sportboat Dealer of the Year Awards for Canada, Top Gun Bombardier ATV Dealer Award for 2004-2005 Season, 2005 Gold Achievement Award of Excellence from Yamaha Motor Canada, and the Max Award for Corporate Fundraising in 2005. Snow City Cycle Marine has also received Five Star Dealer status by Yamaha Motor Canada, of which there are only 9 in Ontario and 32 in Canada! The awards do not stop there, they maintained the Platinum level of Achievement Award from Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd from 2000 to 2004, for the 2003 season Snow City Cycle Marine received the Seadoo Dealer of the Year Award, Million Dollar Award for Sportboats, and Highest Seadoo Parts & Accessories Sales Award for Canada from Bombardier Recreational Products Inc.. Awards have been endless for the powerful duo. Here are some of the most impressive awards they have received throughout the years: the District Achievement Award for Seadoo Sales from Bombardier Recreational Products and the Most Improved Dealer in Motorcycle Sales from Honda Canada in 2000; the Seadoo Dealer of the Year Award for 1998; the District Achievement Award for Overall Performance from Bombardier Recreational Products Inc. in 1996; and from 1996 to 1999 the Gold Achievement Award from Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd. George and Vira thank their wonderful customers and outstanding staff for their success.

One thing that George and Vira pride themselves on is their hard-working and dedicated staff. Without good people working for them it would be hard to succeed. George and Vira have a unique way of running their company - everyone is family. Most of the people working at Snow City Cycle Marine have been there long enough to really be considered family. There is Sandy in the Parts & Accessories Department who began working with George and Vira when she was 15 years old. She has asked us not to disclose her age so you will just have to believe us when we say that she has been there a while! Sandy is not the only one who started working at Snow City Cycle Marine in her teens - we have Roger. He began working at Snow City Cycle Marine part-time, juggling school and work. Roger successfully completed his education in 2002 and then decided to join the Parts & Accessory team full-time. We also have Brittney, our part-time help in Accessories. The Parts & Accessories Department at Snow City Cycle Marine would not be complete without making mention of Susan T. who works behind the scenes in the Shipping & Receiving area…keep up the hard work guys! Welcome to Daryl. He joined the Parts & Accessories team in October. Looking for a helmet? Give him a call.

In the Service Department there is Fiona, Roy, Scott and Doug. You will occasionally see Antoinette helping out at the Service counter when it gets busy. Fiona has been working at Snow City Cycle Marine since 1990. She works closely with all the Technicians to make sure everything runs smoothly. Roy, who most refer to as 'the machine,' has been working with the team for over 15 years. His hard work and dedication has made Snow City Cycle Marine's Service Department very successful. They also have Scott, their top-notch motorcycle mechanic, who has taken on the responsiblity of Shop Foreman. Actually Scott can repair anything from ATVs to cars but his passion is motorcycles. Scott began working at Snow City Cycle Marine as a Co-op student. Once he successfully completed this program he was offered a full-time job and then proceed with an apprenticeship program. And that's how he became part of the team!

We cannot forget to mention the excellent Sales Team, consisting of Hans, Mike, Andy and our most recent addition, Rocky. Hans has known George and Vira for more than 20 years but joined the Snow City Cycle Marine sales team in 2002. Then we have Mike who started working at Snow City Cycle Marine part-time in 2002. By February 2003 he decided to take a full-time position with the company. In the past Mike has owned motorcycles, ATVs and water vehicles so selling them came naturally to him. Andy joined the Snow City Cycle Marine sales team in 2004. He has a passion for snowmobiles and motorcycles. In fact at the age of 16 Andy purchased his first motorcycle from Snow City Cycle Marine! Rocky came to us from the automotive industry and looks to be a great fit!

It is time to give the Administration Department some recognition - Antoinette, Susan, Leola, and Katherine. Antoinette is George and Vira's eldest daughter. She joined the Snow City Cycle Marine team in 1998 after completing her education. This allowed Vira to remove herself from mountains of paperwork and concentrate more on the company's productivity. Today you will find Antoinette floating between the Service and Administration Departments. Leola started working at Snow City Cycle Marine in 2002 as Antoinette's right-hand woman. However, she has now assumed the role of Accounting Manager and has her own right-hand woman, Susan D. You have likely spoken to Leola or Susan D. on the telephone when you have called in since they are the women answering them. Although Antoinette did relieve some pressure from Vira, however it wasn't enough! So Vira began a search for an assistant….ta-da, we have Katherine. She has worked out to be a great addition to the Administration Department!
